Agreement to Terms
By booking driving lessons with The Ministry of Driving (TMOD), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. Service Provider
These terms govern the provision of driving instruction services by:

2. Booking and Scheduling
- Lessons must be booked in advance by phone, email, or through our website contact form
- Lesson times are confirmed only when acknowledged by the instructor
- We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any lawful reason
- Pupils must hold a valid provisional or full UK driving licence
- Pupils must be medically fit to drive and declare any relevant medical conditions
3. Pricing and Payment
3.1 Current Pricing
- Introduction Lesson: £30 for 1.5 hours (first-time students only)
- Single Lesson: £36 per hour
- 10 Hour Block: £350 (£35 per hour)
- Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice to existing pupils
3.2 Payment Terms
- Payment is due at the end of each lesson unless pre-paid block bookings are purchased
- Block bookings must be paid in full before the first lesson of the block
- We accept cash, bank transfer, and other agreed payment methods
- Receipts will be provided upon request
- Unpaid lessons may result in suspension of future bookings
4. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
4.1 Student Cancellations
- More than 48 hours' notice: Full refund or free rescheduling
- 24-48 hours' notice: 50% charge or reschedule with £10 fee
- Less than 24 hours' notice: Full lesson fee charged
- No-show: Full lesson fee charged
4.2 Instructor Cancellations
- If we cancel a lesson, you will receive a full refund or free rescheduling
- We are not liable for cancellations due to vehicle breakdown, illness, or adverse weather conditions
- We will make reasonable efforts to provide alternative arrangements
4.3 Adverse Weather
Lessons may be cancelled in severe weather conditions (heavy snow, ice, flooding) for safety reasons. No charge will be made for weather-related cancellations.
5. Lesson Conduct
- Pupils must arrive on time for lessons. Late arrival may result in reduced lesson time
- Pupils must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during lessons
- Pupils must follow the instructor's guidance and road safety instructions
- Pupils must declare any prescription medications that may affect driving ability
- The instructor reserves the right to terminate a lesson early for safety or conduct reasons (no refund)
- Mobile phones must be switched off or on silent during lessons
6. Insurance and Liability
6.1 Insurance Coverage
- The vehicle is fully insured for driving instruction purposes
- Pupils are covered under the instructor's insurance policy during lessons
- Insurance excess may apply in the event of an accident caused by pupil negligence
6.2 Limitation of Liability
- The instructor is not liable for pupils failing their driving test
- We cannot guarantee specific pass rates or timeframes
- The instructor is not responsible for loss of personal belongings left in the vehicle
- Our liability is limited to the value of the lesson(s) in question
7. Driving Test
- The decision to put a pupil forward for a driving test is made jointly by the instructor and pupil
- Pupils are responsible for booking and paying for their own driving test
- Use of the instructor's vehicle for the test may be arranged at an additional fee
- Test day pre-test lessons are strongly recommended
8. Data Protection
We process your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to such processing.
9. Complaints Procedure
- Complaints should be made in writing by post to our address or by phone
- We will acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 14 days
- If you remain dissatisfied, you may contact the DVSA
10. Referral Scheme
Our referral scheme is subject to the following terms:
- Receive 1 free hour of tuition for each new pupil you refer who books lessons
- The referred pupil must complete at least 5 hours of paid lessons
- Free hours cannot be exchanged for cash
- Free hours must be used within 12 months
- We reserve the right to modify or terminate the scheme at any time
11. Intellectual Property
All content on our website and materials, including logos, images, and text, are the property of The Ministry of Driving and protected by copyright law. Unauthorised use is prohibited.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be communicated to active pupils by email and will take effect 30 days after notification.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
